Account Violations (Hard Breach)

Hard breach are serious violations to our established rules. A hard breach happens when a trader exceeds the maximum daily loss or total drawdown limit, resulting in the immediate closure of the account.

1. Max Daily Drawdown – 3%

What does this mean?

  • The maximum daily loss limit is 3% of your daily starting balance.

How is it calculated?

  • The daily drawdown is calculated daily at 5 PM EST based on your account balance or equity. Your equity must not drop by more than 3% of your initial account balance in a single trading day.

📌 Example:
For a $100,000 account, the daily drawdown limit is $3,000. If your account balance or equity drops below $97,000, you will exceed your daily loss limit.

2. Max Total Drawdown – 6% (Trailing EOD)

What does this mean?

  • The maximum total drawdown for Instant Premium accounts is a trailing drawdown set at 6% of your account balance, calculated at the end of each trading day. This means your maximum loss limit adjusts based on your account's performance — as your balance grows, your drawdown limit moves up with it. However, this adjustment only happens once per day, at end-of-day (EOD); it is never recalculated intraday, and the limit does not decrease if your balance drops. This provides a protective but predictable risk management system.

📌 Example:

For a $100,000 account:

  • If your account balance reaches $104,000 at the close of a trading day, your new trailing drawdown limit becomes $97,760 (6% below that end-of-day balance).

  • If your balance then drops to $103,000 during the next trading day, your drawdown limit stays at $97,760 — it was already locked in at the previous day's close and won't move again until the next EOD update shows a new higher balance.

  • Your drawdown limit follows your account balance at the end of each trading day, and always sits 6% below the highest EOD balance you've reached — it never recalculates intraday and never moves down.

N.B - The Maximum Loss Limit resets after each payout.

Understanding the 1.5% Max Floating Loss Rule

If your floating (unrealized) loss reaches -1.5% of your account balance at any moment, the account will be permanently closed. This rule enforces strict risk management and prevents excessive losses.

For example, on a $50,000 account, if your combined open trade losses reach -$750 (-1.5%), the account will be immediately closed.

Note - The 1.5% Floating Loss Rule is an additional risk management rule and applies independently of the 3% Daily Drawdown and 6% Trailing End-of-Day Maximum Drawdown. All three rules must be respected at all times.

Minimum trading day requirement for Instant Premium accounts

Traders on Instant Premium accounts must complete at least 5 trading days before requesting a reward. These trading days do not have to be consecutive, but to be considered a trading day there must be a minimum profit of 0.5% of initial balance generated.

Consistency Rule

Instant Premium accounts do not have a consistency rule. There is no requirement for profits to be spread evenly across trading days. You are free to generate profits however they come, without needing to balance out a high-profit day.

💰 Rewards & Profit Split

Once you are a Funded GOAT Trader, the following rules apply:

Profit Split: 80% (Traders keep 80% of their profit).

Payout Cycle: Every 10 days.
